Airlift after tractor incident

A middle-aged man was airlifted by the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after he was injured in a tractor incident west of Bundaberg Saturday morning.

The man was driving his tractor through stockyards when one of its wheels reportedly hit a gate, which dislodged a 300kg log, hitting the driver in the back and head.

He suffered serious head injuries and was treated at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) until the RACQ LifeFlight Intensive Care Doctor and QAS Paramedic assisted the local crew.

The man was airlifted to the Bundaberg Hospital for further treatment.

He travelled in a stable condition
