An amusement ride operator has been charged by WorkSafe Victoria following the death of a young boy who fell from a ride at Rye Easter Carnival in 2017.
The victim suffered from critical head injuries during the April 2017 incident and died later on in a hospital.
The company has been charged with a breach of section 23 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for failing to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the persons other than its employees were not exposed to risks to their health and safety.
The charges were filed in the Dromana Magistrates’ Court today.
