Elderly man airlifted in critical condition after fall

An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after falling from a height north of Gympie.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the scene just after 11 o’clock Tuesday morning.

It’s believed the man, aged in his 80s, had been working in a shed when he slipped and fell approximately three┬ámetres.

The man suffered serious head injuries.

Paramedics stabilised the man at the scene before he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
