Fatal quad bike crash in north Queensland

A man in his 60s has died as a result of his injuries after a quad bike crash in north Queensland.

Police said the man died after his quad bike rolled at a property south of Mackay.

The man was found deceased underneath his quad bike on Friday morning.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Statistics show quad bikes are the leading cause of farm deaths in Australia.

In 2018, nine people died in quad bike related incidents.

Over half of quad bike fatalities in 2018 involved rollovers.
