Female ranger attacked by crocodile

The body of an Aboriginal ranger has been recovered after she was taken by a crocodile approximately 206km south west of Yirrkala.

The incident occurred around 10 am on Friday

The Northern Territory Police recovered the body just before 5pm about less than 1 kilometre from the scene.

According to ABC, the victim was collecting mussels in a billabong when she was attacked by the crocodile.

NT WorkSafe has commenced an investigation into the incident.
