Man airlifted after crashing quad bike into barbed wire fence

A man has serious cuts to his neck after a quad bike crash in South East Queensland.

The man, aged in his seventies, was riding his quad bike on a private property, south west of Gatton when he crashed the four-wheeler into a barbed wire fence Monday afternoon.

The Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was sent to the private property, about 2pm.

The aeromedical team worked alongside ambulance paramedics to stabilise the man for his flight.

He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
