Man airlifted after fall from roof near Maryborough

A Hervey Bay man has been airlifted to hospital after he fell from a roof of a scout camp building north of Maryborough.

The incident happened on Wednesday morning.

The man in his 50s had been putting a new roof on the building when he fell,  sustaining suspected leg fractures and a hand injury.

Ambulance paramedics transported the man to Maryborough Airport, where he was met by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.

He was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
