A new app has been launched and it will provide information on how to safely transport dangerous goods in Western Australia.
The app was developed by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety and will provide information about the transport safety requirements needed.
The Dangerous Goods Road Transport Decoder app can be used offline when saved to a mobile’s home screen. Users can access the app on smartphones and tablets and can be used by selecting the Class of dangerous goods and the packaging type being transported.
The app is intended to be used in the preparation of transporting dangerous goods and now while driving.
“One of the McGowan Government’s key priorities is the safety of workers and this app will help protect them and the public on Western Australian Roads,” said Mines and Petroleum Minister Bill Johnston.
“While ignorance of safety requirements is never an excuse, this app makes it easier for workers to know exactly what is required to safely transport dangerous goods to and from mine sites.
“This app is an excellent example of Western Australian innovation and I encourage transport drivers of dangerous goods to download it.”
