Nominations for this year’s Resources Sector Awards for Excellence is closing on Monday 23 April.
The Resources Sector Awards for Excellence brings together the Golden Gecko environmental awards, Community Partnership Resources Sector Award, and the Safety and Health Resources Sector Awards.
By recognising excellent work in the resources sector, the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety aims to encourage higher industry standards to help develop and maintain community confidence in mineral and petroleum activities.
In 2017, the partnership between the Graham (Polly) Farmer Foundation and Rio Tinto was recognised in a ceremony with a special commendation for their partnership which supports Indigenous students to further their education and training.
“The commendation is further evidence of the effectiveness of our work and our ability to establish and sustain long-term strategic partnerships. This is an increasingly important consideration for potential funding partners,” the Foundation’s CEO, Cate Sims said.
Winners of the Resources Sector Awards for Excellence will have the opportunity to share their experience with government, industry and the community.
