Public consultation on quad bike safety

From 2011 to October 2017, 114 lives were lost due to quad bike incidents, with seventeen of these children below the age of 16.

With these deaths, The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is investigating quad bike safety and is considering the merits of implementing a standard for quad bikes.

The ACCC has recently released the Quad Bike Safety Issues Paper and is seeking feedback from stakeholders including manufacturers, dealers, workplace safety experts, researchers, farmers and quad bike users on a range of issues and options.

The public consultation period is now open, with submissions accepted until 5pm on Friday, 15 December 2017.
