The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter was called to a property at Main Arm Monday afternoon, where a man in his 60s had been injured in a quad bike incident.
The man suffered serious injuries after a quad bike reportedly rolled on him.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being transported to Tweed Heads District Hospital for further treatment.
Every year quad bikes are a major cause of death and serious injury in rural workplaces. According to SafeWork Australia statistics, there were 10 quad bike fatalities in Australia in 2016, and half of these were related to rollovers.
