Latest work-related fatality figures from Safe Work Australia show as at 25 January 2018, 10 Australian workers have been killed at work in 2018.
According to the safety watchdog, seven Transport, postal & warehousing workers have been killed at work so far. Agriculture, forestry & fishing, Information media & telecommunications and Wholesale trade workplaces have each one fatality.
The new figures are based on initial media reports and are a preliminary estimate of the number of people killed while working, according to Safe Work Australia.
Once the appropriate authority has investigated the death, more accurate information becomes available from which Safe Work Australia updates details of the incident.
