Three workers have been taken to hospital following a workplace incident at a construction site in Surfers Paradise.
The incident happened on Wednesday morning.
According to ABC News, the three men, one aged 27 and the others 28, were working in a lower car park at the construction site on Old Burleigh Road when cabling conduit fell two-and-a-half metres onto them about 8.45am.
“One of the workers was trapped. His co-workers have been able to remove that [the conduit], which was quite good considering it weighs about 80 kilograms per metre so it certainly minimised his injuries,” Queensland Ambulance’s Gavin Fuller said.
“The other two workers were struck by it but not trapped underneath it.”
One of the workers had a fractured pelvis while the other two suffered leg and shoulder injuries.
All three were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
They were transported in a stable condition.
