Worker injured in drill bit incident

A man has been rushed to hospital following a workplace incident in southern Queensland.

The man suffered a serious leg injury after he reportedly struck himself in the leg with a drill at a Wellcamp business on Thursday morning.

He was transported to Toowoomba Hospital for treatment

According to the Australia Bureau of Statistics, in 2017-18, 4.3% of males who worked in the last 12 months experienced a work-related injury or illness, down from 4.9% in 2013-14.

However, the proportion of females who experienced a work-related injury or illness in the last 12 months increased from 3.6% in 2013-14 to 4.0% in 2017-18.
